The Clean Show 2022 Re-Cap
The Clean Show 2022 Recap
Last month our owners & favourite Brother/Sister duo had the opportunity to attend the 2022 Clean Show in Atlanta, Georgia. Not held again for another several years, this year’s Clean Dhow was one to remember with thousands of attendees, vendors and opportunities alike.
Our History With The Clean Show
Back in the day, while Don and Nadine were young adults, their mother and father Grace & Neville would attend The Clean Show whenever they could. Keeping a low profile, they would walk the numerous rows of the latest and greatest in dry cleaning machines, finishing equipment, soaps & solvents. They would build relationships with new vendors, join important associations and of course, hang out with their tight knit Canadian colleagues, usually dwarfed by attendees from much larger dry cleaning markets, like the US & Asia.
This year marked the first year that second generation owners Nadine and Don were able to attend together, this time, able to maximize their short but very efficient 48 hours. They loved their time so much, that they told the rest of our test that this may be a new tradition.
Here’s just a glimpse of the many people and things they were able to see at The Clean Show 2022 in their own words:
Our Experience This Year
This year's event was sponsored by a vast number of organizations and hosted by Messe Frankfurt, who made the show amazingly user-friendly by offering attendees an app where we could book talks, workshops and events before even leaving Toronto.
Our Itinerary was packed full of some amazing events and talks hosted by people like Shane Abis, Dave Coyle, Flair Consulting, SMRT Systems and many more. We left the talks having learned a variety of tidbits including how to drive sales, establish processes, create a winning work culture and how to use technology to maximize our potential.
Along with educational talks, we were able to chat with a number of vendors working on the latest technology, companies like Sankosha, Union, Metalprogetti, SMRT Systems & Miele to name a few.
Networking opportunities were aplenty with numerous Gala’s & association meetings. We had the pleasure of attending a morning session with our Bureau member’s in Methods For Management, Attended the CFA evening Gala and a number of other Galas where we met with friends new and old, like our friends at Oceanside Cleaners.
Two of our must see attendees were our friends in the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists and our fellow garment care folks at the Canadian Fabricare Association. Both of these incredible associations have been some of the most important resources and communities for us as we’ve grown our business over the past 50+ years. The support of these associations as well as our fellow colleagues in the Canadian market, is nothing short of brilliant and we’re so thankful for them!
Finally, although not directly related to garment care or the Clean Show, Nadine had the pleasure of being the social media manager for the weekend, holding it down on our Instagram stories!
Needless to say, we can't wait for the next Clean Show in 2025!
